AllnAday

Today J-bo and I knocked out just about all the roads in Richmond and the surrounding areas in about 6 hrs or so.It was nice to be feeling good for once. Last time I was out here I spent a considerable amount of time on J's wheel It was the other way around this time.To be understood, he has been putting in sick hours getting ready for the solo 24 race(FunkThat!)I tag along just for something to do,besides what else would I have to write about???? Off to hit the trails with roxie and Nicole next................

Ride of Doom

Jeff coined the term ride of doom after the 4th flat and 6th derailure screw up.It was destined to fail when 10 ft into the trail Jimmy stacked it down a 10 ft drop and it went to crap from there but I still had a good time. The trails were in perfect conditon and the weather was off the chain,Like jimmys bike: he ended up single speeding it until his bottom bracket desintergrated and we had to push him 10 miles.Jeff turned around early(Intelligent choice) but not the funnest, as he missed the best of the lord of the rings single track.Mission wasnt accomplished but we still put in some good hours and spent the whole day on our bikes.....more pics later
Have a funeral tommorow...........

RICHmond

Jimbo and myself had a great day touring the MULTI million dollar homes near rockville/Manikin/and Louisa.I Didnt get any good pic because I didnt want to stop. The only stop besides water that I agreed to was to help a stranded cyclist with a flat.I donated my tube(see K-dogg)which he proceeded to use a screwdriver to seat it against our advise and go figure He flatted again. The rest of the day was spent in Jimmys draft since he felt like hitting it and I am out to ride for fun not to train.Next stop Jeremiahs where we are going to conquer the whole SMT/Southern Traverse(I promised Danbo someday we would return and hit this thing).........Get out enjoy the weather!!! Oh yeah I cant forget to Say good luck to Mom and Dad to be, Benneline and Donald (I would never have even thought of MTBing without these 2)The package should be comming today sometime!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NewCar

Whats in your garage?I had the honor of keeping my Uncles new car at my house last night because he didnt want it to get rained on.I dont blame him.It puts a sparkle in just about anybody that sees its eye(for 70 grand it should)!!!!!May be one day I will keep 1 in my garage?????

Relief

Finally nearing the end of a rest week, I have been totally bored.Although we have been doing some good technical rescue training at work,I have only done easy MTB rides and takeing care of a few projects around the house.
My blood work came back today and I have the testosterone of a horny teenager(Go figure)And my hematocrit,Cholesteral, glucose levels are all on point if not great. This makes me feel better since this time of year I usually convince myself that I have done major damage and need 2 quit.Luckily thats not the case.........Time to start enjoying the approaching fall weather!!!!!!

5days

I had a pretty relaxing 5 days once Chester was found.I spent the rest of the week washing cars and riding with different groups of people.Nicole and I went with Cam to a nice Sushi place that left me with a big dent in my wallet but we had a good time.Rode with IFJeff,Jimmy and Nicole at York for a good while then Yesterday I met Dan and crew out for the gravel road tour which ended up being longer than expected so I had to keep moving(sorry gang, wasn't trying to be rude + I need to return K-doggs tube). Now its time to concentrate on homework and take a well deserved rest week!

Chronicles of Chester

Update.Chester is back in our possesion. The story that unfolded to get him back could have been scripted in hollywood. This morning a person calls stating his friend has her and he will call us back.Never does, So we call animal control.Who contacts him.He states the girl has givin him to pet smart and was adopted to someone in Williamsburg,Then it he was in Chesapeake. After a few legal threats and several story changes later. The lady reluctantly turned him over to animal control @3pm.On the way back we stumble on a Lost white german shepard(not chester)Having been threw this ordeal I felt sorry and picked him up.Now I have a house full of dogs until the owners come and pick them up.Roxi isnt complaining!Thanx for all the support.........

Ups and Downs

Today Jimmy and I headed out on a long quest to have some fun, which we did.The ride was great besides someone trying to kill us with the car.I guess they were in a rush to get home and hate to see people out actually enjoying life!Any way things were good then we get back to my house only to find that Jimmys new puppy Chester had escaped from my back yard.I feel like crap. His dog had just passed away and he drove to ohio to get this one....Nicole,J and myself Spent the rest of the evening putting up lost Dog signs and searching the hood to no avail.Tommorrow starts day 2 of operation chester.Wish us luck

100

This race always makes me want to quit riding(while I am doing it that is).100 miles is a lot of time for things to go wrong. And when they seem to happen every year at the same place its even more frustrating.(Darn rotor!)I am happy that I was able to finish although not quite the placing I was looking for,had everything been perfect I still would only have been in 4th(instead of 6th)Felt good the first 2 hours yoyoing off of floyds wheel(when ever he hit an open climbing section )The race as I thought went from the gun,They said that the race was an hour faster by the 2nd or 3rd check point than it had ever been!I hung on to the train as long as possible,Then the rotor drag started to take its toll along with only granny in the back it cost me a bit of time but I didnt really feel super anyway.so all n all it was a descent day.Jeff on the other hand, lit it up. Destroying everyone!John Micheal completed his 2nd MTB race ever finishing the 100(Firefighters never give up!)thats quite qn accomplishment for someone who as only been riding a mtb less times than you can count on your hands...........oh yea Roxie was bad and The FJ was great, I stole some pics from nicole
